June 2016

Pandelglang is a village 3 hours west of Jakarta.  Dr. Titi went with us for follow up visits for past cleft palate patients and examinations for future patients.  This is real, rural Indonesia, where rice farmers still use water buffaloes to work the rice paddies.  They also harvest and thrash their rice by hand.

Indonesian tradition says if a pregnant woman touches a man's nose, her baby will be born with a
similar nose.

A wonderful day

Felicity Aston, a member of the Jakarta 3rd Ward, took us to visit a refugee school in Bogor.

The refugees will be in Indonesia for 3 to 5 years waiting for permanent asylum in host country.
All lessons are taught in English to help prepare the students for their new host countries.
The teachers are all refugees as well, and they receive no pay.

Back in Lamongan for the six month inspection of the Clean Water project.

It is so good to see so much rice being dried. There has been so much more rain this year than last and the harvest is very good.
